'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Ethan Galbraith renews clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he recalls the dramatic final moments of Swansea's stunning fightback win against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The game ended with Galbraith picking up a spectator's eyewear after the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a speculative shot from 25 yards, and the defender promptly converted the deflection before racing off toward the home end to revel in the moment, with fans swarming the players.

Remarkable Recovery

The victory completed an extraordinary comeback given the team had been behind 2-0 during the final 45 minutes. In the euphoria, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a spectator shouting out and we were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're individuals, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The result secured a next round game at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a club Galbraith pushed hard at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with the London side in February. The athletic midfielder had arguably the best view when Orient took the lead in remarkable manner, with a teammate's volley from about 45 yards going in via the woodwork and the City goalkeeper. It feels criminal that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've credited him for attempting the shot from that range," stated Galbraith, who began the game centrally before moving to right flank after Orient changed tactics. That meant getting to grips with the England international, with whom he traded tops, and the winger was among the Manchester squad who paid tribute to the way Orient played positively.

City's Quality

"Physically they are very good but even the simple things and basic skills, they can just do it over and over again," he explains. "It feels like they complete every delivery and they know how to control and slow down a game. You can think you're holding your own and then abruptly they will just fizz a pass through a line without you even spotting it. You have to be switched on at all times of the game. It requires a strong mentality and focus just to stay in the game."

Welsh Transition

Swansea sought to acquire Galbraith in January and secured his signature to secure him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He established himself as a fans' favourite across multiple campaigns at his former club and has swiftly achieved similar status in south Wales. At his previous team he joined forces once more with Richie Wellens, who earlier gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in first-team action on loan at his loan club from United. Then came a temporary move at League Two the Manchester club, before he permanently left Manchester United.

Development Path

"I was perhaps a bit naive going into senior level. I think many athletes would say under-23s football is completely distinct. Sometimes it feels like the ball is moved without much intensity. There are limited hard challenges. Once you start playing men's games you have to learn quickly."

Country Call-ups

He has shown that development for his team and nation, shining for the Green and White Army, who could still reach the World Cup next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has featured in the recent fixtures, including home and away games against the German national team. His former international manager, Galbraith's former international manager, offered the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he controls possession and his ability to spot a game-changing assist.

Starting Out

It has been quite the ride for the player from the local area in Glengormley, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who used to see his parent, the elder Galbraith, also a central player, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Manchester United Experience

Galbraith's single match for the Red Devils came in Central Asia in 2019, a Europa League trip to Astana, where they featured on an synthetic surface and the venue ceiling was sealed owing to conditions of freezing cold. "It was a lengthy journey and it was freezing," he says, chuckling. "The days leading up, several youth players and I trained together, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to accompany the senior squad and earn some playing time at the end was amazing."

Moving On

How difficult was it to depart Manchester United, the club he joined from Linfield aged his mid-teens? "The decision proved fairly simple, because I got to the stage where I knew I couldn't establish myself at first-team level. I'm extremely thankful for the years at the club but it got to the point where I thought I needed to go my own route, drop down the leagues and play professional soccer. Now I'm steadily working my way back up."

Welsh Adaptation

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has somewhere to be at late afternoon: a learner's exam, another progress toward getting on the road. Until recently to the local area, the young professional was a constant rider in Swansea's dubbed player transport, a minibus driven by club employees, the transport team, which transports players to and from training and matches.

"I travel with the Portuguese player, Ronald, an Ivorian player – a former passenger used to be in it but has got his license. It's enjoyable to socialize with the teammates but I'm planning to be the subsequent individual to drive independently and driving. Franco is known for his humor; he's always up to all sorts."

Supporter Connections

While playing for his former club, Galbraith would mix with followers on the Tube after starting his journey at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
