Intensive Russian Attacks Cut Electricity Across Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has intensified assaults on electrical systems over the past few days, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and applying penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles targeted the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles hit power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Local officials said the city came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The attacks succeed periods of aerial attacks in the region, sections of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to identify.

Authorities told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were anticipating additional strikes.
