Devastated HK Residents Stunned as Major Inferno Destroys Residential Blocks

University student an eyewitness was among the many individuals attracted to the scene of a tragic fire that engulfed large portions of the eight-building Wang Fuk Court in the city's Tai Po district.

A minimum of over three dozen people have perished in yesterday's destructive blaze so far, with hundreds still missing, indicating that this count will likely rise.

"This is a disaster," Thomas remarked about the blaze, adding that he had observed a deceased person being transported from the scene.

In excess of a 1,000 further individuals were compelled to leave the estate as the flames expanded, with many making their way to established centers that have been set up to accommodate them.

The fire is slowly being controlled, but officials state they are uncertain when it will be fully put out.

She stated that she had been offered little guidance from the authorities on where to obtain support.

Multiple area community members had delivered necessities to the victims - including dozens of warm layers and warming devices.

Upon questioning about their sentiments regarding the blaze, inhabitants stated that "authorities is ineffective" and that they were "extremely distraught".

"We hope not to experience any further casualties," remarked a resident.

An older woman who dwells in one of the impacted blocks stated she was not at home when the incident ignited but that she is concerned about her home because it is uninsured.

"I'm very troubled that I have no residence to inhabit currently," she concluded.
